The thieves have come up with something new again. Whereas they used to steal the whole car, these days they tear out the dashboard and parts of the interior. The speedometer, navigation screen, and even the entire center console are then sold off. The owner is left with a few strands of broken wiring, extensive damage from forced entry, and a whole lot of trouble.

One mishap never comes alone

It’s usually not the small run-errands cars that are selectively totaled. It’s mainly the serious high-mileage vehicles that bear the brunt—in other words, the drivers who can’t do without a car or van. And how does that play out (all too) often? The vehicle is taken to a garage, where the mechanics get to work. They order parts, replace entire systems, and arrange for a rental car. That can easily take a couple of weeks. And auto body shops are better at repairing the exterior than the interior. In short, it can be done faster and better. And cheaper, too. But keep in mind: our field engineers are always nearby when you break down. And that’s your lucky break.

A little insurance matter

Insurance remains a tricky issue. Often, larger organizations, such as a leasing company, cover the comprehensive insurance themselves. As a result, they bear all the costs and have a vested interest in getting you back on the road quickly.
