The vacations—mostly spent in the Netherlands—are almost over. Many Dutch people were able to enjoy their sailboats, pleasure yachts, RVs, or travel trailers. For the first two categories, our products fall under the umbrella term “maritime home automation,” but road users enjoy them just as much—or perhaps even more.
On Land and at Sea
During the summer months, we’re busy with our camping and traveling friends. Those who travel a lot make many discoveries. When building a boat, you usually start with the hull and then add the superstructure. You finish with the furnishings and instruments. With a travel trailer or RV, the process is slightly different—namely, from the inside out. This is convenient for the manufacturer, but retrofitting something later—with the hassle of drilling into beautiful, one-piece kitchen cabinets—is much more difficult. So it’s great that our detection systems are installed wirelessly. That saves a lot of damage.
Forewarned is forearmed
We’ve also heard something else from our technicians—something water sports enthusiasts rarely have to deal with. It’s not a pleasant topic, but don’t look away. It’s becoming increasingly common for drivers to be “knocked out” in parking lots. Shocking, isn’t it? It’s not as old-fashioned as having a wad of chloroform held under your nose, but the effect is the same: your trailer, RV, or valuable cargo is stolen right in front of you. Truck drivers, in notoriously dangerous areas, were already familiar with the phenomenon of incapacitating gases, but it’s getting closer and closer to home.
Detection of Asphyxiating Gases
You can breathe easy again. At Movida, we’ve quickly adapted, and we now also offer detection systems to detect such gases. Even if you can’t smell anything yourself, an alert is immediately sent to the monitoring center. Of course, we’ve found even more applications for this same system. This includes water sports enthusiasts. For example, we can immediately detect a leak from a water heater or stove—whether it runs on propane or butane—and shut off the appliance remotely. Where necessary, passengers are warned or awakened by a (loud) alarm.
Online platform for everything that moves
Comfort at home, at work, and on the go. And that includes vacations, too. Our track-and-trace systems integrate seamlessly with existing notification systems, and local alerts are activated wirelessly and remotely. This includes alerts for unauthorized visitors.
